Levy began his career making music videos and documentaries for many well-known bands, including Blur and Elastica. Musically he is perhaps best known for his film ‘Bananaz’, which documents the cartoon-band Gorillaz over a 7-year period and during that time worked with artists as diverse as De La Soul, Neneh Cherry, Dennis Hopper, The Pharcyde and Ibrahim Ferrer from The Buena Vista Social Club.
He has also written the successful Gonzovation Trilogy of books with artist Ralph Steadman, comprising Extinct Boids, Nextinction and Critical Critters. These deal with the subject of extinction that faces many of the world’s creatures. He has travelled across the globe in order to understand the problems faced by conservationists and has campaigned against the illegal hunting of migratory species in the Mediterranean.
