Picasso’s little-known Diurnes portfolio (his only venture in the world of photography) was published when the artist was 80 years old – yet it captures all of the cheeky, childlike irreverence that characterised his very best late work. Made in collaboration with the young photographer André Villers (half a century his junior), Diurnes (‘Daytime’) combined photograms of the provencal landscape with Picasso’s Matisse-inspired cutouts, originally made one afternoon to entertain his children. Join us as we explore this delightful story of late Picasso at play. You can also watch this live on our Facebook or YouTube channels.
